What WordDecoder is

WordDecoder is a Bible study tool. You enter a passage or topic, and WordDecoder generates a plain-language explanation, historical context, real-world application, and discussion questions. We store the studies you generate so you can access them later.

What we collect

• Account information - your email address and name, collected via Clerk when you sign up.
• Study content - the passages or topics you submit and the AI-generated studies created from them.
• Usage data - standard analytics (pages visited, features used) collected via Vercel Analytics. No personally identifiable tracking.
• Payment information - handled entirely by Stripe. WordDecoder never sees or stores your card details.

How we use it

• To generate and save your Bible studies.
• To manage your account and subscription.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset). We do not send marketing email.
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services required to operate WordDecoder:

• Clerk - authentication and account management
• Neon - database hosting (your studies are stored here)
• Anthropic - AI generation (your submitted passage or topic is sent to generate the study)
• Stripe - payment processing
• Vercel - hosting and analytics

Data retention

Your studies and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@theworddecoder.com. We will delete your data within 30 days.

Cookies

WordDecoder uses cookies only for authentication (to keep you signed in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
